Now that the US Department of Justice Immigration and Naturalization Service Department of Internal Audit has begun its investigation, the expected harassment of Caryl Leventhal begins.  Ms. Leventhal was one of the first whistleblower employees to the terrorist friendly corruption in that agency, leading to the death of thousands in the World Trade Center on September 11th.

On May 10, 2001 Caryl Leventhal receives a certified letter dated May 2, 2001 from the US Department of Justice's Immigration and Naturalization Service Equal Employment Opportunity Section in Washington DC.  The letter is signed by a D. Diane Weaver who is now Director of INS/EEO.  Ms. Weaver's obstructionism and withholding of evidence was largely responsible for Caryl's decision to leave the corrupt Administrative Complaint process some three years prior.

The letter comes out of nowhere and is in response to nothing sent by either Caryl Leventhal or her husband Michael.  Essentially, it says "ha, ha, you won't be able to do anything and nothing will change."  Mr. Leventhal's response via certified mail appears below.

Worthy of note is that since the Leventhal's dealings with Ms. Weaver in early 1998, she has received a promotion ... probably for displaying the same duplicitous cruelty that INS seems to hold in such high esteem.  Some things never change in the USDOJ/INS bureaucracy.  And who informed D. Diane Weaver of an impending investigation anyway?

Dear Ms. Weaver:

I have received the attached letter and do not understand why you sent it to my wife Caryl. Nobody in the Leventhal family has had anything to do with INS/EEO for years, nor do we wish to. Why are you starting up again?

From September 1996 until we were forced out of the Administrative Complaint Process several years later, we were faced with nothing but obstruction of justice by JoAn Taylor and yourself. Ms. Taylor adamantly refused to accept the primary complaint basis of REPRISAL to cover corruption at INS 26 Federal Plaza, NYC even though it was filed timely and properly.

You continued in this policy of obstructing justice by "losing" two certified letters and two faxes requesting a hearing by a USEEO Judge. It wasn’t until late February 1998 that you relented, but only when I wrote a certified letter to Janet Reno stating that I would go to the media. And again, you continued in Ms. Taylor’s policy of cloaking corruption in INS 26 Federal Plaza by never informing Mark L. Gross, USDOJ Adjudications Officer about the REPRISAL basis.

The actions of INS/EEO forced us into Federal Court where, of course, REPRISAL for corruption could not be used. Very slick! But I’m certain that INS/EEO is very experienced in picking and choosing what cases to push or kill. You and your crowd of miscreants can be proud of yourselves. USDOJ/INS must offer courses in how to handle complaints they don’t want simmering to the surface.

The actions of INS/EEO in attempting to place a lid on facing up to corruption in 26 Federal Plaza co-opted our system of justice, shed dishonor on the US Department of Justice and sullied the dreams of our Founding Fathers.

Caryl and I want nothing to do with you or your alleged EEO department. Even writing this letter brings back some ugly memories. To be candid, sitting behind my PC after a hard days work and responding to your irrelevant form letter is tantamount to walking down the street and stepping in dog feces.

And I’m putting you on notice: During your alleged INS/EEO Administrative Complaint Process, Caryl and I received numerous crank calls and even a death threat that we have on tape. I don’t want this to begin again and will hold INS/EEO and you personally responsible. My wife is no longer a Federal Employee and a Bivens Action is not out of the question. Caryl is a disabled American and private citizen with a right to privacy.

And don’t call me at my place of business.
