Immigration Services Homeland Security, US Department of Justice

abuse and corruption

Michael G. Leventhal - Editor

HOW DO YOU KNOW IF THE US DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE IS PREPARING TO BREAK INTO YOUR HOME?... You criticize them and they are nice to you... Your telephones stop working... Your electricity gets turned off... You get a call from a hostage negotiator... A pizza delivery boy appears at your door wearing a Kevlar helmet... Illegally parked tanks aren't ticketed... Your new postal worker shows up dressed like a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle... Your nasal spray smells like tear gas... You see bright lights and hear a recording of bunnies being killed...

U. S. Citizenship and Immigration Services - Homeland Security employees aiding Islamic Extremists for Cash

Sep 11, 2007 (c) DojGov.net newswire

In the midst of Homeland Security and their Immigration Services (aka "ICE") claiming to protect the nation, a criminal investigations report points fingers at U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services employees who are aiding Islamic extremists.

Selling Green Cards and approving visas without background checks has been endemic in Immigration services when INS was a part of the US Department of Justice. During the Islamist terrorist rise of the 1990’s, INS whistleblowers such as Caryl B. Leventhal were routinely brutalized and terminated after pointing fingers at the problem (see www.justice-denied.net).

These activities were and still are conducted through gross incompetence or personal financial gain. Unfortunately, it is even more difficult to target this problem now that Immigration has been folded into the mega-dysfunctional bureaucracy called Homeland Security.

The confidential 2006 USCIS report said that despite the severity of the potential security breaches, most are not investigated "due to lack of resources" in the agency's internal affairs department.

"Two District Adjudications Officers are allegedly involved with known (redacted) Islam terrorist members," said the internal document obtained by The
Washington Times.

The group "was responsible for numerous robberies and used the heist money to fund terrorist activities. The District Adjudications Officers made numerous DHS database queries to track (Alien)-File movement and check on the applicants' status for (redacted) members and associates."

According to the document as it appeared in the Washington Times, other potential security failures include reports that:

1. Employees are sharing detailed information on internal security measures with people outside the agency.

2. A Lebanese citizen bribed an immigration officer with airline tickets for visa benefits.

3. A USCIS officer in Harlington, Texas, sold immigration documents for $10,000 to as many as 20 people.

A USCIS employee, who wished to remain anonymous for fear of reprisal, said many of the complaints in the multiage document are as many as three years old, but not acted upon.

"Terrorists need immigration documents to embed in our society and work here without raising alarm bells," said the employee.

"Whether through bribing an immigration officer, an employee with the department of motor vehicles, or utilizing highly effective counterfeit documents produced by the Mexican drug cartels. They are always looking for that documentation to live amongst us."

Bill Wright, spokesman with USCIS, said that he could not comment on any ongoing investigations but that USCIS "takes all internal allegations seriously."

"The investigations that are referenced are ongoing investigations that we can not comment on," Mr. Wright told The Times. "We take all of these allegations seriously, and we are acting on them. For anyone to suggest that they are ignored is blatantly wrong." And yet, nothing seems to be done.

In March, USCIS established the Office of Security and Integrity to investigate internal corruption. On the other hand, this has been done before to no avail.

In August 2007, The Times disclosed a confidential DEA report substantiating the link between Islamic extremists and Mexican drug cartels. The 2005 DEA report states that Middle Eastern operatives, in U.S. sleeper cells, are working in conjunction with the cartels to fund terrorist organizations overseas. Several lawmakers promised congressional hearings based on the information disclosed in the DEA documents. But never ending hearings never seem to bring action.

The DEA report also stated that Middle Eastern extremists living in the U.S. — who speak Spanish, Arabic and have even learned Hebrew fluently, are posing as Hispanic nationals.

USCIS Director Emilio Gonzalez in March told Congress that he could not establish how many terror suspects or persons of special interest have been granted immigration benefits.

Local blogs glean the internet for information that proves to be revealing and consistent with that discovered by the Times.  One such Michigan blog written by a Debbie Schlussel has compiled further information.  If substantially accurate, the information further confirms that taking INS away from the US Department of Justice and hiding it in Homeland Security, eliminates nothing.

Stripping away the crudely written prose so common in a non-literary blog world, several items of interest include:

Daphiney Caganap, Customs and Border Protection port Director.  In this capacity, she received thousands of dollars in bribes.  Rather than arrest, prosecution and imprisonment, she was awarded probation.  Naturally, Ms. Cagtanap was allowed to keep whatever bribe money she received.  Many consider this to be a de facto reward for betraying the American people but remaining loyal to her government agency.   Undoubtedly, she will also get to keep her pension.

Citizenship and Immigration Services (CIS) Detroit's top CIS official, Carol A. Jenifer, was caught taking bribes in exchange for immigration benefits (visas and citizenship).   Due to civil service protection and bureaucratic apathy, she remained in her position for several more years until retirement.  Again, agency loyalty seems to trump moral and judicial justice, with the reward of a substantial pension.

One of Ms. Jenifer’s employees got caught accepting thousands of dollars in bribes in order to “speed up” citizenship applications for over 100 Lebanese and Yemeni Muslims in the Detroit area.   Aided by Federal Judge Avern Cohn, those in question were not only allowed to remain in the United States, but those deported in the bribery scheme were allowed to return to the America.  Ms. Jenifer received no punishment.

Roy Bailey is, the former Field Office Director Detention and Removal Operations (DRO) for Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).  Bailey was allegedly caught stealing property of illegal aliens being detained in his facilities prior to deportation.  He was removed from his active position in 2003 and placed on Paid Administrative Leave of $139,900 per year.  After four years of receiving income for what is in fact, a multi-annual vacation, he was granted a $100,000 pension and full healthcare for life.

Some would hint that there might be a racial component involving these corrupt Immigration employees, because all are black.   In fact, the racial aspect  is very similar to the case of whistleblower Caryl Leventhal (www.justice-denied.net).

In 1998 Larry Zieff D/Regional Counsel to INS in Burlington Vermont informed her husband that they would not investigate her allegations of selling green cards and processing visa applications without proper background checks.  The logic was that those accused would "scream race," and they didn’t want that kind of problem. It was just easier to fire Ms. Leventhal because she was white.

But race is not really the problem. Whites are corrupt too. It’s the attitude of people in Immigration and other government agencies that prefer the Politically Correct easy way out.

Corruption never seems to end, as federal bureaucrats nudge America towards terrorism that will dwarf the 3,000 murdered on September 11th.

Incompetent Government Employees Place American's at Risk by welcoming a "Typhoid Mary"

(c) DOJgov.net Guest Editorial - 1 Jun 2007

ATLANTA - What do you do when an irresponsible Atlanta Personal Injury lawyer with a  highly contagious, virtually untreatable strain of tuberculosis  with a 50% mortality rate wants to re-enter the United States?  Does it matter if this person is on a computer warning list designed to keep him (and terrorists) out?  What does one of our "highly trained" border inspectors do when he sees the warning appear on his computer screen?  The answer seems to be that he lets him in, because that's exactly what happened.

Not only did the Federal Civil Servant allowed Andrew Speaker back into the U.S., but he didn't even question Mr. Speaker with the required protective gear.  Not only did the "highly trained" Federal Homeland Security employee lack the presence of mind to keep himself from being infected, but set the man loose to spread his deadly microbes on the rest of America.

According to government officials, the border inspector who disregarded a computer warning to stop him and don protective gear has been removed from border duty with pay.  This usually means that they get an unscheduled paid vacation for weeks on end, which is essentially a reward for incompetence.

The unidentified "highly trained" inspector explained that he was no doctor but that the infected man seemed perfectly healthy and that he thought the warning was merely "discretionary."  This raises the question of whether the "highly trained" inspector even has normal reasoning skills.  If he admits to not having medical training, why did he make the medical decision to let the man in because he "seemed perfectly healthy," irregardless of computer instructions?

Boy, is this country in trouble with government employees like this.

Homeland Security Immigration Supervisor Found Guilty of making millions through illegally selling citizenship, after More than a Decade of Government Stall Jobs

 (c) DOJgov.net Guest Editorial - 4 December 2006

Robert T. Schofield, 57 was a poster child for why we are faced with terrorist sleeper cells and gangs of immigrant thugs.

It all started back in In 1991, when Schofield worked for the US Department of Justice's Immigration and Naturalization Service as  special agent.   At that time, an investigation of an Asian brothel in Washington DC was botched after Schofield had an affair with an informant.

The frisky INS employee was was demoted and subsequently fled to East Asia, where he spent more than $36,000 on two government credit cards.  According to former colleagues, Schofield was then coaxed back to Washington DC, where he was allowed to keep his job as an immigration application examiner.  What happened to the $36,000 in taxpayer money he blew?  Your guess is as good as ours.

Never complaining and displaying "agency loyalty," Schofield rose through the ranks until he became a supervisor in charge of approving citizenship.  Mr. Schofield was so overt that the day after he started his new job, law enforcement sources and colleagues say, a line of beautiful Asian women formed outside his new office.

Authorities say that over a five-year period, 200 immigrants each paid him up to $50,000 for fake documents.

Robert T. Schofield, 57, of Fairfax, who once supervised as many as 50 employees in Homeland Security's, allegedly cleaned up Citizenship and Immigration Services, pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court to bribery and aiding and abetting the illegal procurement of citizenship.

It should be noted that Mr. Schofield acted with complete impunity and with knowledge of U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services officials, until he was finally arrested and charged with taking more than $8.1 million in bribes to sell phony green cards.  That's after he was rewarded for years, with a fatly accruing pension and a nice taxpayer salary.  These are pretty good perks while looking for love in all the wrong places, pocketing over $8,000,000 and placing America at risk of crime, spying and terrorism.

Immigration experts say the Schofield case shows how five years after the attacks of Sept. 11, the agency charged with screening foreign visitors remains deeply flawed. Charging documents claimed that prior to his arrest at his Fairfax office last summer, the government had investigated Schofield for some TEN YEARS, for numerous allegations that he was taking bribes.  "Deeply flawed," you say?  Maybe the investigative process is what's deeply flawed.

“That guy should have gone to jail a long time ago,” said Jim Goldman, a former INS director in Miami.  Whether many were spies or terrorists is unknown, but the fact remains that until his performance became so overt and embarrassing that action finally had to be taken, Homeland Security Immigration did nothing about his criminal behavior.

DOJgov.net always had misgivings about folding corrupt, dysfunctional government entities like Immigration Services into one big dysfunctional agency.  It's like combining Al Qaida, Hamas and Hezbollah together and claiming that you've created one super Salvation Army.

Immigration Services - Homeland Security Selling out America

(c) DOJgov.net Guest Editorial 27 October 2006

In the midst of a constant terrorist threat and a corrupt Immigration Division of Homeland Security (formerly part of the US Department of Justice), a former Immigration supervisor was arrested for having sold citizenship documents to ineligible aliens and placing America at further risk of terrorism.  He was one of the criminal ringleaders among one of many criminal rings in the eternally corrupt Immigration Services Bureau.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Marcus Asner said Jimmie Ortega was the central player in one scheme that awarded at least 60 phony citizenships in return for bribes of between $1,500 and $4,000. "We believe we are scratching the surface," Mr. Asner said, of what had been uncovered so far in a 10-month-old investigation.  It's the type of investigation that only occurs when things become so overt that it can't be covered up anymore.

Selling citizenship and Green Cards along with approving visas without proper background checks has been endemic in both Immigration Services of Homeland Security and when it was called the Immigration and Naturalization Service Bureau of the U.S. Department of Justice.  Whistleblowers to these activities have been routinely brutalized and terminated, while upper management turns a blind eye to anything but the most overt criminal activities, as long as the perpetrators didn't criticize the agency.  In FedSpeak, that's called "agency loyalty."

U.S. Magistrate Judge Debra C. Freeman, ordered Mr. Ortega held without bail, citing what she said seemed to be a lack of trust and candor.  Mr. Ortega's placing America at risk seemed morally irrelevant to the judge.  What really made her indignant was discovering that Mr. Ortega was essentially a bigamist, with two families and two sets of children.

A current immigration supervisor also was charged in the citizenship case, along with several brokers and people accused of paying bribes to become citizens. The prosecutor said the government had several cooperating witnesses and extensive telephone records linking Mr. Ortega to those who paid bribes.

The prosecutor said bribes cleared the way for people otherwise not entitled to citizenship to become legal Americans, without being interviewed.  Their receiving prior Green Cards legally or through previous financial bribes was never explored.  That might lead to the indictment of too many government employees and be an embarrassment.

Mr. Ortega's lawyer, Lee Ginsberg, said his client would not flee, in part because his $4,000 in monthly pension benefits might be placed at risk.  If you didn't get that, you should read the sentence again.

Mr. Ortega retired as a supervisory district adjudications officer with the naturalization unit of the U.S. Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration Services, 26 Federal Plaza in New York.  He began employment on or about 1995, the same time that Caryl B. Leventhal started working in the same facility, when INS was part of the US Department of Justice.  Mr. Ortega kept his mouth shut, accepted his bribes, received promotions and currently collects a substantial pension.

Caryl Leventhal was a whistleblower to these activities.  Typically, she received physical brutalization, termination, death threats and threat of arrest and prosecution (by the US Attorney's Office) for not remaining silent to activities that enabled the terrorism of September 11, 2001.

That's right!  The arrogant, treacherous bums at the US Department of Justice's US Attorney's Office will do an occasional prosecution of traitorous corruption in a government agency, but only when things get too hot.  On the other hand, they readily morph into Rabid guard dogs for a government agency, if a whistleblower causes too much trouble.  It's all a cruel game of public relations and has little to do with our safety.  And it's a game that will get more innocent Americans killed.

U.S. Customs and Immigration Rats to Mexico on Minuteman patrols

(c) DOJgov.net guest editorial - 9 May 2006

According to California's Inland Valley Daily Bulletin, while Minuteman civilian patrols are keeping an eye out for illegal border crossers, the U.S. Border Patrol is keeping an eye out for Minutemen -- and telling the Mexican government where they are.

According to three documents on the Mexican Secretary of Foreign Relations Web site, the U.S. Border Patrol is to notify the Mexican government as to the location of Minutemen and other civilian border patrol groups when they participate in apprehending illegal immigrants.

A U.S. Customs and Border Protection spokesman confirmed the notification process, describing it as a standard procedure meant to reassure the Mexican government that migrants' rights are being observed.

"Migrant' rights?  These are illegal aliens invading America.  Not only do they pour across our non-existent border, but they are taught in Mexican schools that they are doing nothing more than reclaiming Mexican land.

"Now we know why it seemed like Mexican officials knew where we were all the time," said Chris Simcox, founder of the Minuteman Civil Defense Corps. "It's unbelievable that our own government agency is sending intelligence to another country. They are sending intelligence to a nation where corruption runs rampant, and that could be getting into the hands of criminal cartels.  They just basically endangered the lives of American people."

Officials with the Mexican consulate in Washington, D.C., could not be reached for comment Monday, but according to one of the documents on their Web site entitled, "Actions of the Mexican Government in Relation to the Activities of Vigilante Groups," Mexican consulate representatives stay in close contact with Border Patrol chiefs to ensure the safety of migrants trying to enter the U.S., those being detained and the actions of all "vigilantes" along the border.  The document also describes a meeting with San Diego Border Patrol sector chief Darryl Griffen.

"[Griffen] said that the Border Patrol will not permit any violence or any actions contrary to the law by the groups, although violence, vandalism and theft on the part of the illegal aliens seems to be routinely excused.

The documents specifically named the Minuteman Civil Defense Corps and its patrols, which began monitoring Arizona's southern border in April 2005, as well as Friends of the Border Patrol, a Chino-based nonprofit.

T.J. Bonner, president of the National Border Patrol Council, a union representing more than 10,000 Border Patrol agents, said agents have complained for years about the Mexican consulate's influence over the agency.  "It worries me (that the Mexican government) seems to be unduly influencing our enforcement policies. That's not a legitimate role for any foreign nation," Bonner said, though he added, "It doesn't surprise me."

Well, it doesn't surprise us at www.DOJjgov.net either.  While there are a number of very dedicated people at Immigration services, there is also a very large number of indolent, corrupt and apathetic employees who gleefully crush any outspoken employee with a sense of dedication to job and country.

An excellent example of this can be found by going to www.Justice-Denied.net, where an INS employee attempted to stop the type of rampant corruption that enabled the murder of some 3,000 Americans on September 11th 2001.  She was terminated, had her life threatened, was physically crippled and threatened with arrest and prosecution by the US Attorney's Office.

The sham of "Immigration Reform" and the destruction of our United States

(c) DOJgov.net guest Editorial  9 April 2006

One of the absolutes of history is that governments have a tendency of destroying their own nations.

Historically, this has been accomplished in two ways: 1. The bureaucracy grows in size and incompetence until it consumes more wealth than the nation produces.  2.  Through the disintegration of borders, huge waves of alien populations invade the land, overwhelming the prevailing culture with values that are incompatible to the existing society.

It is an unfortunate fact of America that over the last few decades, its government has been denuded of statesmen and a patriotic bureaucracy.  Their numbers have subsequently been replaced by self-serving politicians, consumed by the desire for increased power and supported by pathologically voracious civil servants.

Modestly paid but diligent bureaucrats have morphed into an ever increasing mass of highly paid and well pensioned indolents, who can be as dysfunctional as they wish, so long as they remain loyal to their respective agency.  The latter came to light on September 11, 2001 where their preoccupation with destroying whistleblowers (see www.Justice-Denied.net) over protecting our great nation enabled the worst foreign terrorism in United States history.

It is true that we are a nation of immigrants.  But every nation on earth can wear that mantle.  Let's not forget that the historical difference between an immigrant and an invader involves method of entry.  No matter how much politicians or reporters cleanse the definition, a legal entry is an immigrant and an illegal one is an invader.  It's just like someone coming into your house.  An invited visitor is a guest.  An uninvited entrant is a burglar and potential murderer.

An undoubtedly negative national example began after the third century A.D.  Unable or unwilling to to defend its borders, Europe of the Roman Empire was engulfed by hoards from the East, including the Goths, Visigoths, Ostrogoths, Franks and Huns.  This led to the thousand year "dark ages" of ignorance, violence, disease and decay.  It also created a power vacuum that was filled by the Islamic empires who for better or worse, almost destroyed Christianity and what was left of western culture.

Virtually every nation in the western hemisphere (including Mexico) was built on a mix of peaceful or violent immigrant invasions.  Thus, the favorite mantra of those intent on destroying the United States nation -- we are a nation of immigrants -- means nothing.  It's like saying "we're a nation of Laws."  Well, so was Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union.  Empty phrases do not make a logical argument.

In 1986 Ronald Reagan allowed some six million illegal alien invaders to leapfrog over legal immigrants, with the promise that the inefficient and dysfunctional would protect our borders and naturalization processes.  This never happened.  As a matter of fact, the first bloody attack on the World Trade Center in 1993, included five terrorists who took advantage of this earlier "amnesty."  And now, two decades later, we are expected to swallow a similar political and bureaucratic incantation by officially absorbing some twelve million new illegal alien invaders.

The politics of this is non-partisan, supported by both Republicans and Democrats but for different reasons.  It will be enforced by the same group of civil servants in immigration services whose job security and pandering to inefficiency exists today.  The only difference between 1986 and 2006 is that the Immigration and Naturalization service of 1986 was transferred from incompetence in US Department of Justice, split into two bureaus and hidden in the 180,000 strong and still more incompetent Homeland Security Agency.

An intelligent and efficient immigration process adds to the genetic and cultural wealth of a nation.  Immigration anarchy leads to a nation denuded of its sense of self and purpose.  History certainly repeats itself, doesn't it?

Immigration Services Homeland Security...  Their enabling of Terrorism continues

DOJgov.net guest editorial (c) July 9 2005

In spite of the transfer of Immigration Services from the US Department of Justice to the Homeland Security Agency, illegal practices are continuing to place America at risk.  This information came our way via www.Justice-Denied.net.  For those unfamiliar with this website, it is published by Caryl B. Leventhal.

Caryl is a former employee of the US Department of Justice Immigration and Naturalization service.  Back in 1995-1996 (when Osama Bin Laden claimed to be planning 911) she was the first whistleblower to their illegally selling Green Cards and issuing visas without proper background checks.  This is the type of behavior that enabled the destruction of the World Trade Center and established terrorist sleeper cells in America.

Over the years, Caryl and her husband have received a threat of death from USDOJ INS employees and have been threatened with arrest and prosecution if she didn't make her website www.Justice-Denied.net more amenable to the US Department of Justice and Immigration Services.

www.Justice-Denied.net has first hand witness information that 26 Federal Plaza, NYC is continuing their practice of illegally selling passport stamps on site.  These stamps indicate that an immigrant has been approved for legal permanent residency, or a green card.  It is their path to free access in America.

This practice is being carried out in the open, with employees working together and collecting pay-offs on-site.  Corrupt or incompetent Mid level management is doing nothing to stop this.  Upper Management is turning their backs on this terrorist friendly corruption in a perverse, bureaucratic interpretation of protecting their agency.

Corruption such as this is endemic in Immigration Services.  It works hand in hand with the selling of Green Cards and processing of visas with incomplete background checks.

It seems that the transfer of INS to Homeland Security has done nothing more than cloak corruption within an even larger agency bureaucracy.  Our elected and appointed officials have little if any control over the multitude of corrupt, incompetent and indolent Immigration Services employees who arrogantly continue in their practice of selling out America through indolence or for financial gain.  And because of this, further terrorism is virtually guaranteed.

Terrorists may pull the trigger, but our greedy and incompetent federal bureaucracy opens the door to America and welcomes them in.

"Deep Throat," the pornographic bureaucrat

DOJgov.net guest Editorial 1 June 2005

Does anybody under the age of 40 even know that "Deep Throat" was more than a ground breaking 1972 porn flick?  Most wouldn't remember that it was the acronym for a mysterious personality in one of the great scandals of the 1970's.  A popular movie and a host of tedious books entered it into the lexicon of government intrigue and speculation.

To those of generations X and Y, this three decade long search involved an anonymous snitch who fed information about the Nixon presidency and the Watergate scandal to newspaper reporters.  It made headlines and destroyed the competent if flawed Chief Executive Officer and President of USA, Inc.

Deep Throat has finally unmasked himself, in the form of W. Mark Felt, the former No. 2 man at the FBI.

Was it an act of conviction that caused this sycophant and holdover of the J. Edgar Hoover tyranny to break the law?  Was he truly a selfless whistleblower?

Genuine whistleblowers are rare.  They must be prepared to go public and lose everything, including their job and pension.  They must be willing to sacrifice their health and (in the case of a true US Department of Justice whistleblower) expect threats of bodily harm and threat of arrest and prosecution if they don't keep quiet.

W. Mark Felt did none of these.  As the No. 2 man at the FBI, he was disgruntled over not being offered the top spot of his mentor and hero, J. Edgar Hoover.  Felt was also upset over Richard Nixon's genuine attempts at transforming the FBI from a Stalinist cult of personality.

Typical of a scummy, arrogant and self possessed Fed, he didn't have the guts to resign and go public. Rather, he slithered in the shadows to guarantee his job and pay check, eventually retiring on a big fat pension.  He risked nothing.

In Federal service, particularly in the US Department of Justice or Immigration Services (formerly a USDOJ Bureau and now hidden in Homeland Security), agency loyalty is the only thing that matters.  This means that you can do almost anything, just as long as you don't publicly criticize your tenured bureaucracy.

The true whistleblower is very rare.  You can find stories of a few on the internet, such as www.Justice-Denied.net, where a Department of Justice INS employee attempted to stop terrorist enablers from selling Green Cards and issuing of visas without proper background checks.  Persecuted patriots like this have sacrificed everything, in an attempt at keeping America safe and free.

The story of W. Mark Felt is a three decade long porn movie.  And we at dojgov.net have little doubts that this man's family will now reap big buck royalties off the self-serving cowardice and egotism of their father.

FBI seeks expanded search powers as report shows its failure to meet terrorist threat

www.DOJgov.net Guest Editorial 10 April 2005

A few days ago, USDOJ FBI Director Robert Mueller asked lawmakers to expand the bureau’s ability to obtain records without first asking a judge, and joined Attorney General Alberto Gonzales in seeking that every temporary provision of the anti-terrorism Patriot Act be renewed.

“Now is not the time for us to be engaging in unilateral disarmament” on the legal weapons now available for fighting terrorism, Gonzales, for his part, told senators.

“Experience has taught the FBI that there are no neat dividing lines that distinguish criminal, terrorist and foreign intelligence activity,” Mueller said in his prepared testimony.

He also asked Congress to expand the FBI’s administrative subpoena powers, which allow the bureau to obtain records without approval or a judge or grand jury.

"For many years, the FBI has had administrative subpoena authority for investigations of crimes ranging from drug trafficking to health care fraud to child exploitation," he stated. "Yet, when it comes to terrorism investigations, the FBI has no such authority."

At the same time, a presidential commission on the FBI's ability to fight terrorism stated that they have "many miles to travel" in its attempt to remake itself as an effective counterterrorism agency.

``The failure of CIA and FBI to cooperate and share information adequately on such cases could potentially create a gap in the coverage of these threats, like the one the September 11 attack plotters were able to exploit,'' the commission said.

The latest report on U.S. intelligence failures was gloomier than its predecessors about the FBI's prospects for remaking itself following the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks.

FBI officials refused to comment on the report beyond a brief statement. ``We are pleased that the Commission recognized that we have made progress, and we agree with its judgment that we have more work to do,'' the statement said.  This response is typical of government bureaus in the US Department of Justice.  Their responses have no relationship to criticisms leveled against them.

No matter what the US Department of Justice might say,  the panel confirmed that the FBI remains a crime-fighting agency in many respects, the panel said. Field offices put law enforcement ahead of intelligence-gathering because, as one agent told the commission, ``Bin Laden is never going to Des Moines.''

Though there are more analysts than ever, the FBI still tends to treat them as second-class citizens, the panel said. It identified one instance in which they were given clerical tasks unimaginable for an FBI agent to help clear up a backlog.

It seems that agencies like the US Department of Justice and an increasingly incompetent Homeland Security Agency (particularly in its Immigration Services and Border Control areas) can only respond to their anti-terrorist mission by  turning on American citizens and grabbing more of their liberty and privacy.

This has been made even more evident in a plan where Americans will need passports to re-enter the United States from Canada, Mexico, Panama and Bermuda by 2008.

Speaking at Baylor University at Waco, Tex., Bush said border controls with Mexico had to be tightened to make sure that terrorists, drug runners, gun runners and smugglers do not enter the United States.

Hey, stupid government bureaucrats... the solution is not harassing American citizens using legal entry routs into the United States or intruding on their personal lives by barging into their homes on whim.  It's stopping the millions of illegal aliens and potential terrorists from sneaking across the border.

Don't you get it yet?  Or maybe you do get it but don't want to offend the Mexican government.  Or maybe you really don't want to stop entry of illegal invaders at all, because of political reasons and the providing of cheap labor to your financial contributors.  Or maybe you're just a bunch of self-important jerks who only care about your pensions and cheap plays for personal power.  When will this ever end!

US Department of Justice and Immigration and Naturalization Service Plays Shell Game with our Lives in Bogus Reorganization

www.DOJgov.net guest editorial - March 1, 2003

March 1st is more than a windy month.  It’s the time when the ultimate game of “Hiding O’ Seek is played out on the American people.

After years of corruption including the sale of Green Cards and issuing visas without proper background checks at the US Department of Justice’s Immigration and Naturalization Service, government reorganization has again attempted to correct a problem by hiding it.  For years, the US Department of Justice has worked hand in hand with its beleaguered bureau.  They crushed whistleblowers to its terrorist friendly practices.  They used the US Attorney’s Office to threaten arrest and prosecution for continuing to speak out and attempt change.

But the terrorist murder of over 3,000 innocent Americans on September 11, 2001 required a slicker slight of hand.  Bureaucrats in the US Department of Justice and their bastard stepchild the Immigration and Naturalization Service had to be protected, no matter how it contributed to the terrorist murder of innocent Americans.

So here’s the new slight of hand:  As of March 1, 2003, the Immigration and Naturalization Service now becomes part of the unwieldy behemoth called The Homeland Security Agency.  It will be divided into two bureaus (sub-bureaucracies) instead of one.  The first would involve enforcement of border and interior.  The second, is called "Customer Service" and will be responsible for processing applications.

Now we have a bureaucracy of 170,000 federal employees, using layers of sub-bureaus to hide and protect some of the most corrupt and indolent members of tenured, corrupt and ineffective middle management in government.  What a perfect place to bury the traitorous activities of the INS and distance it from their US Department of Justice enablers who protected them for years.  And don’t think that the US Attorney’s Office won’t continue to protect them through threats and litigation.  Only now, the US Department of Justice will be able to conduct their traitorous activities as a second party, officially unrelated to the INS chain of command.

Oh yes… in return for transferring the INS out of the US Department of Justice, the redundant ATF (Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms) is being transferred from the Treasury Department to the USDOJ.  The Treasury will still keep that component of ATF that is responsible for taxes, but their hired guns will join the USDOJ to enhance its power to bludgeon anyone critical of their growing power.

This new marriage might actually be harmonious.  After all, the ATF and FBI worked very well together when they wiped out an entire American community in WACO Texas a little more than a decade ago.

INS Workers Probed in Terrorist Friendly Corruption Scam

When will we be free of US Department of Justice Immigration and Naturalization Service Terrorist Friendly Corruption?  How many more Americans must die, as the US Department of Justice fosters terrorism through inefficiency and an arrogant penchant to protect its growing power?

Investigators are conducting a probe into another possible security breach that has allowed terrorists to operate freely in America, set up sleeper cells and commit acts of terrorism.

Federal authorities are investigating whether corrupt Immigration and Naturalization Service workers at 26 Federal Plaza New York City helped a Pakistani man obtain authentic immigration documents for customers willing to shell out up to $27,000.

Mohammad Yaqoob Bhatti, 45, pleaded not guilty to possessing false identification yesterday.

Federal prosecutors charged three other Pakistani men with buying permanent-resident cards and passports embossed with special INS stamps.  Court records reveal that these are the documents prized by terrorists because they are then capable of traveling freely.

In at least two cases, Bhatti provided buyers with a new identity that allowed them to get “replacement” foreign passports from the Pakistani Embassy with their own pictures on them.

He then accompanied the men to the INS office in lower Manhattan, where an official applied a stamp that indicates the holder is a permanent resident.

Since 1996, former US Department of Justice Immigration and Naturalization Service employee and whistleblower Caryl B. Leventhal has been attempting to stop this type of activity, including the sale of Green Cards.  Her efforts earned her brutalization, termination and death threats.

In 1999, she published her website www.Justice-Denied.net which chronicles her ongoing battle to keep America safe from terrorists and a corrupt, indolent and vindictive US Department of Justice Immigration and Naturalization Service.

November 14, 2002 - USDOJ Immigration & Naturalization Service Makes Terrorist an American Citizen

DOJgov.net Newswire November 14, 2002

The US Department of Justice Immigration and Naturalization Service is currently reviewing how it could have made someone suspected of having ties to the Islamic terrorist group Hezbollah a naturalized United States Citizen in October of 2002

As part of their administrative reviews, five agency employees in New York and Newark, including the senior official in charge of investigations in New York and a supervisor who oversees terrorism cases, were placed on paid leave on Tuesday, according to several officials who spoke on the condition of anonymity. It should be noted that this is giving these government employees extra vacation time paid by the taxpayer.

"Last week, the Immigration and Naturalization Service initiated a review of a matter involving the New York and the Newark district offices," said Nancy Cohen, a spokeswoman for the agency in Washington. "Several employees have been placed on administrative leave."

Ms. Cohen said the agency would not discuss the matter further, citing the nature of the review.

Several law enforcement officials said the review was undertaken because a man was under scrutiny by the F.B.I.-N.Y.P.D. Joint Terrorist Task Force prior to and including the time he was granted citizenship. For some time now, the United States government has designated Hezbollah as a foreign terrorist organization.

A file containing allegations against the man, whose name could not be determined yesterday, was in the hands of investigators on the task force in New York, but was apparently not reviewed by the INS employees in Newark who handled the man's citizenship application, the officials said

Among those placed on administrative leave were two INS adjudicators (as yet unnamed) in Newark who had some role in the naturalization of the man, officials said. In addition, Dan Molerio, the assistant district director for investigations, Richard Coraggio, an INS supervisor on the task force, and an INS agent on the task force were also placed on administrative leave.

All five are on leave for an unspecified period during the review, which will be conducted by the agency's Office of Internal Audit.

The details of how the man became a citizen were unclear yesterday, and several officials said the investigation into any ties he might have to Hezbollah had not yet been completed. It was also unclear whether any action would be taken to withdraw his citizenship. This takes a lengthy procedure that is very rare.

The naturalization process includes fingerprint checks with the F.B.I. Citizens of foreign countries seeking American citizenship must provide a letter from their local Police Department saying that they have never been arrested, and they must be interviewed by an INS examiner, who administers a history test and makes sure they understand English. Applicants must also take an oath to support the principles of the United States Constitution.

Since the Sept. 11 attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, the Immigration and Naturalization Services has been relied on to play an increasingly important role in the government's antiterrorism efforts. A series of widely publicized bureaucratic missteps, including the mailing of visa extensions to two of the dead Sept. 11 hijackers six months after the attack, have undermined the agency's credibility.

Additionally, the Immigration and Naturalization Service has a long history of silencing whistleblowers to behavior that some have considered to be "terrorist friendly." This includes the wholesale selling of Green Cards and haphazard processing of visa paperwork in INS 26 Federal Plaza New York.

Efforts to create a new Department of Homeland Security in Washington moved forward in Congress yesterday as the House approved a revised Homeland Security bill that could absorb the INS entirely and split it into two parts. But nothing has ever been mentioned about terminating incompetent and apathetic employees.

Representative F. James Sensenbrenner Jr. of Wisconsin, the chairman of the House Judiciary Committee and a leading critic of the I.N.S., said yesterday that he had ordered his staff members to look into how a man under investigation with ties to a terrorist group could become a citizen.

"This case raises the disturbing question: `If the INS can't track suspected terrorists, how can they track anybody?' "

Congress has conducted numerous investigations but has never done anything concrete to resolve INS’ root problems.

October 27, 2002 - INS Actions aid Muhammad and Malvo in Murder Spree that Kills 10 in Maryland and Virginia

DOJgov.net Newswire October 27, 2002

Both psychologically and physically, John Allen Muhammad, 41, and John Lee Malvo, 17 were joined at the hip. Muhammad was the Nation of Islam Al Qaeda sympathizer who chose that name as a sign of kinship with the Arab terrorists who murdered over 3,000 innocent Americans on September 11, 2001. Malvo was the sociopathic illegal alien from Jamaica who the US Department of Justice, Immigration and Naturalization Service set loose on the American people.

They were bound by a hatred of Americans and in a very real sense, fed off each other to form a lethal combination of terrorism.

But on October 24, 2002 the Associated Press reported that a Justice Department official defended the Immigration and Naturalization Service's decision to set John Lee Malvo free even though the Jamaican teenager faced possible deportation.

The official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, rejected criticism voiced by Rep. Tom Tancredo, R-Colo., who attacked the INS decision. Tancredo made his charge shortly after Malvo, 17, and John Allen Muhammad, 41, were described by the leaders of a state and federal police task force as the two individuals responsible for the deaths of 10 people in a series of sniper shootings that terrorized the Washington, D.C., area.

The Justice Department official said the agency acted properly in Malvo's case because it does not require the posting of bonds for juvenile immigrants who are arrested with their parents.

In this case, Una James, Malvo's mother, who was also accused of entering the United States illegally with her son, was required to post a $1,500 bond, pending a Nov. 20 deportation hearing. Malvo, then 16, was released into the custody of his mother, which is standard INS policy, the official said.

James and Malvo were cited by a Border Patrol officer in January for illegally entering the United States after Bellingham, Wash., police investigated an incident at a homeless shelter where they were living. They told the officer that they had arrived in the United States as stowaways on a ship filled with Asians, Tancredo said.

Although the Border Patrol officer who cited them in Bellingham listed them as stowaways, the Justice Department official said they were not stowaways under U.S. law. A stowaway does not have the right to be released on bond, the official said. The Justice official said that after their arrest, another INS official reclassified their arrest to allow them to be released, pending their November hearing on the illegal-entry charges. This was done, even though the officer who arrested them described the two as likely to flee.

This is standard INS practice to reduce caseload, even at the expense of safety to Americans.

In the legal profession, judicial ethics is little more than the appearance of propriety. Put simply, fingers can't be pointed at you  as long as legal technicalities can be manipulated to validate your actions. It has nothing to do with common sense, justice, safety or not acting like a bureaucratic robot. And since the USDOJ INS writes their own legal guidelines, they build in clauses to cloak themselves behind this appearance of propriety whenever things go wrong.

Well things went very wrong.  But a bureaucratically traitorous US Department of Justice and their Immigration and Naturalization Service continues to be more interested in using self-serving regulations to cover their errors in common sense.  They continue responding to terrorism by  ripping away American liberty and waiting for more of us to die.

Head of Immigration and Naturalization Service Throws in Towel

DOJgov.net Newswire August 17, 2002, Washington - James Ziglar, the beleaguered head of America's Immigration & Naturalization Service yesterday said he's throwing in the towel after a series of embarrassments linked to Sept. 11.

Mr. Ziglar came on the job just a month before Sept. 11, but took heat when immigration officials approved visas for two of the hijackers six months after they died in the attack on America.

The Immigration and Naturalization Service has long been known for corruption, indolence and brutally crushing whistleblowers attempting to stop endemic policies that can only be referred to as "terrorist friendly."  As the new head, Mr. Ziegler became the "fall guy" poster child for a malfunctioning agency that some people feel has become the biggest threat to American safety.

And while its enforcement functions are to be shifted to the new Department of Homeland Security, few people believe that anything will really change other than the shuffling of chairs.

Caryl B. Leventhal, a former USDOJ INS employee and one of the first whistleblowers to the illegal selling of Green Cards and processing paperwork without proper background checks was not surprised.  The brutalized and now disabled former employee reaffirmed that for years the primary mission of the INS has been silencing any dedicated employee attempting to be critical or attempting productive change.  "Everything that matters is loyalty to the agency and keeping your mouth shut.  They are protected by their parent agency's bureaucrats in the US Department of Justice and judicially shielded by the USDOJ  US Attorney's Office," Mrs. Leventhal affirmed.

But officials denied that Ziglar - a former Senate sergeant-at-arms - was chosen as as the latest scapegoat and forced out.  President Bush, who has defended him in the past, thanked him for his "service at this very challenging time."

In a letter to Bush, Ziglar said he believes "the record will show we have made substantial progress," but he wants to go into the private sector by year's end.

The Arab terrorist responsible for the deaths of 3,000 Americans were invited in by the INS.  And many feel that "sleeper cells" heavily composed of INS naturalized US citizens, exist in the United States and will commit more terrorism in the future.

August 7, 2002 - US Department of Justice Immigration & Naturalization Service Providing Weapons and Classified Information to Criminals and Terrorists

DOJgov.net guest Editorial: After an audit, the FBI has admitted that the US Department of Justice lost track of hundreds of weapons and laptop computers.  Many of the 400 lost computers may have contained classified information.

According to USDOJ inspector general Glenn A. Fine, at least a few of the 775 weapons were recovered after they were used in armed robberies and at least one was registered as evidence in a homicide.

Most of the weapons belonged to Immigration and Naturalization Service and FBI.

Before last year, the FBI had not taken a complete inventory of laptops and weapons in almost a decade, despite an agency policy requiring one every two years, the investigation found. Last year's inventory was prompted when other agencies, including the INS, reported large numbers of missing weapons.

Fine reported in March 2001 that an audit of the INS found the service had lost about 500 weapons.  Until caught in the act of lying by auditors, the Immigration and Naturalization Service admitted to losing only 16 weapons.

The audit prompted criticism from Congress.  "This problem has sparked consequences, in criminal acts and danger to national security,'' said Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, a senior member of the Judiciary Committee. According to the reports, the problem of missing guns is a mess, and it's been that way for years. It stems from weak discipline, lax standards, tardy reporting and few, if any, consequences.''

Regarding weapons, the inspector general's report found the INS and the FBI reported losses of 539 and 212 weapons, respectively, during the time frame of the audit, October 1999 to January 2002. The FBI reported an additional 211 missing weapons outside that period.

Providing weapons and classified documents to terrorists and criminals is not the way to protect a nation, folks.  Maybe if you stopped spending your time brutalizing and silencing whistleblower employees like Caryl Leventhal, you wouldn't have the blood of a terrorist borne September 11th massacre on your hands.  Maybe it's time to stop viewing your indolent and criminal employees who don't speak out against the US Department of Justice as being loyal goodfellas.

August 5,, 2002 - US Department of Justice, a Federal Judge and Congress, Participate in a Lynching

DOJgov.net guest editorial: CLEVELAND - On July 30th, James Traficant Jr., the maverick Democrat Congressman convicted of corruption charges and then kicked out of Congress, was sentenced to eight years in prison for accepting bribes and kickbacks.

The feisty Congressman had long been known for not playing along with the government scams.  For years, Congressman Traficant was critical of the US Department of Justice's slowly gaining control of our government through political blackmail and manipulation of our many corrupt and self-aggrandizing elected officials.

When two Congressmen committed Statutory Rape against underage male and female Pages, he was a lone voice speaking out against them.  The rest of Congress closed ranks to protect them.  When he said that the American people were afraid of their government and would soon learn to hate it, he was treated with scorn.  And when he said that he hated those that ran our government but loved America and its people, he was vilified by cynical elected officials and bureaucrats alike.

Congressman Traficant unsuccessfully fought to have an oversight board placed over a vicious and incompetent US Department of Justice and they never forgave him.

James Traficant was a 9 term Congressman and far from an angel.  But he was significantly better than most, in his staunch responsiveness towards fighting peer elitism and the growing US Department of Justice tyranny.

Federal Judges are frequent lackeys of the USDOJ and on the face of it, U.S. District Judge Lesley Wells proved to be no better.  She even refused the former congressman's request for bond pending appeal, saying Traficant had threatened federal investigators and had violated his bond by making a brief trip to Pennsylvania.

Judge Wells is learning well from her US Department of Justice masters.  When in doubt, hide behind bogus threats.  They did the same to a USDOJ INS whistleblower disabled with Multiple Sclerosis, when she attempted to warn America about corrupt, terrorist friendly practices in their Immigration and Naturalization Service.  It's the stock and trade of a self styled KGB.

While this was going on, Senator Robert G. Torricelli (D-NJ) was under investigation for taking bribes.  Senator Torricelli neither made waves in Congress nor criticized the US Department of Justice.  As a result, Senator Torricelli was not brought up on charges by the USDOJ.  Rather, Torricelli's accuser was the one arrested by the Department of Justice.  The US Attorney's Office (the junkyard dogs of the USDOJ) had his accuser thrown in jail to shut him up.  The US Senate tried Senator Torricelli in CLOSED hearings, giving him a mild rebuke.  And the US Department of Justice smiled in the knowledge that they had placed another of our elected officials in their evil pockets for future use.

In the 1970's, the US Department of Justice conducted a sting operation called ABSCAM.  Posing as rich Arabs, USDOJ agents offered bribes to Congressmen and Senators in return for the potential sellout of their country.  Money would be exchanged for granting "favors" to those representing or connected to foreign governments.  Many of these elected officials were busted.  But they either got slaps on their hands or minimal jail time.  And the USDOJ had made its point to those we elected to represent us: Let us do what we want we will crush you.

Getting back to the feisty Traficant, Judge Wells even gave him a longer sentence than  what USDOJ prosecutors had requested, saying that Traficant had no respect for the government.  In future years, we can expect an increasing number of Americans to be thrown in federal prisons for "failure to show deference to government."  It's everything our Founding Fathers feared.

May 30, 2002 - US DEPARTMENT of JUSTICE IMMIGRATION and NATURALIZATION SERVICE TELLS NY POLICE TO LET SUSPECTED TERRORISTS WALK THE STREETS

As the saying goes, you can dress them up but you can’t take them out.  Reinforced by the knowledge that they have virtually 100% job security, the terrorist friendly middle management bureaucrats at the USDOJ INS are at it again.

On May 30, 2002, the NY Post reported that a gang of illegal Mideast aliens were set free by the New York Police Department because the “INS didn’t want to be bothered.”

The potential terrorists, some with phony ID’s and all admittedly illegal immigrants could have been held for further investigation if the Immigration and Naturalization Service had bothered to show up.  More than likely, they would have come from 26 Federal Plaza in Manhattan.

It should be noted that it was at this location that USDOJ INS whistleblower Caryl Leventhal (of www.Justice-Denied.net) was assigned.  She was brutalized, terminated and subjected to threats of death and prosecution if she didn’t shut up about terrorist friendly corruption.

"What's the point of stopping vans and risking your life when the one agency with power blows you off?" one angry lawman said. "And this is after Sept. 11."

"It's frightening and disheartening," said another. "The agency that handles immigration didn't want to come down.  They didn't even want to be bothered."

The large INS contingent at 26 Federal Plaza didn't seem to have anybody awake on duty in the city because the call was transferred to INS in Burlington, Vt., more than 300 miles away.

INS, 70 Kimball Avenue, Burlington VT  05403-6813 is where for several years prior to the terrorist murder of 4,000 Americans on September 11, 2001, their Regional Counsel Larry Zief and others worked to judicially silence Caryl Leventhal’s first hand warnings of danger to American safety through INS indolence.

"The f- - -ing INS has one phone working Memorial weekend and it's in Vermont?" said another incredulous law-enforcement official.

The case began about 4 p.m., when MTA Bridges and Tunnels officers stopped a battered van from entering the Brooklyn-Battery Tunnel from the Manhattan side. The red-and-white 1990 cargo van had four Mideastern men jammed in front - one more than is legal.

Police opened the rear padlocked door and found three more men inside, a police report said.

The seven men, produced a variety of paperwork, including a phony government card obtained in Times Square, a bogus passport, an ID card from Virginia, and some New York nondriver IDs.

They were taken to the officers' headquarters on the Brooklyn side of the tunnel, where detectives from the NYPD Intelligence Division, the Joint Terrorist Task Force, the MTA, an assistant Brooklyn DA and interpreters had responded.

"They had a horrible attitude," one cop said of the INS.  Several hours later, the INS phoned back requesting that the illegal immigrants be freed and that "INS would follow up at a future date in our own way.”

But the truly horrible attitudes are that the liberty grabbing US Department of Justice can only protect the American people by turning America into a police state and their Immigration and Naturalization Service doesn't care whether we live or die.  Their tenured bureaucrats just want to be left alone to do whatever they wish.

March 13, 2002 - USDOJ's Immigration and Naturalization Service Still Inviting Terrorists into the United States:

DOJgov.net Guest Editorial - The Immigration and Naturalization Service approved the visa of World Trade Center Terrorist Mohammed Atta even though he had re-entered the United States several times on expired visas.  To make matters worse, Atta was already on an immigration "watch list" when the visa was approved.

The extensions were approved in July and August of 2001 and in spite of complicity in the murder of over 3,000 innocent Americans, they sent out an approval letter to the Huffman Aviation School in Venice Florida on March 5, 2002.  The formal approval mailing of Atta's visa, occurred six months after his terrorist act.  INS blamed a large backlog of data in old processing equipment.

The visa approvals staggered lawmakers who have called for the nation’s immigration laws to be toughened in the wake of the terrorist attacks.  These are the same Congressional lawmakers who for years produced investigative reports of INS corruption and inefficiency, but failed to follow up by holding the USDOJ INS accountable.

“The fact that the INS sent out two letters regarding the student visas of two known terrorist hijackers — a full six months after the terrible events of September 11th — is outrageous,” Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-California told MSNBC news. “My fear is that it is still business as usual at INS even in the aftermath of the most devastating terror attack on U.S. soil.”

Feinstein, chairwoman of the Senate judiciary subcommittee on immigration went on with the hack cliché that this “clearly demonstrates the immediate need for improvements in the data systems and the visa operations at the INS through the Senate’s swift enactment” of legislation she has co-sponsored with Sen. Edward Kennedy, D-Mass.

Since 1996, Congress has passed laws requiring the Immigration and Naturalization Service to provide better follow up.  One of these, the "llegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act of 1996," mandated the creation of a database that stored information about international students.  Only now, five years later and in response to the September 11th terrorism is the INS allegedly beginning to respond.  In 1997, The Congressional Cox Commission indicted the INS for corruption and inefficiency but walked away from the problem.

To date, USDOJ INS has shown little respect for Congressional legislation.  They have responded by requesting more people and money while employees attempting change were met with punitive actions, threats and brutality (see www.justice-denied.net).  And to date, our elected officials in Washington have done nothing more than billow their campaign bile to placate a trusting electorate.

The September 11th terrorists are guilty of "co-mission," but our elected officials are guilty of "omission."  And an arrogant US Department of Justice continues to protect their "terrorist friendly" Immigration and Naturalization Service even after the wanton murder of thousands of Americans.

Al Qaeda may be the name of our foreign terrorists but in a very real sense, the apathetic and corrupt US Department of Justice's Immigration and Naturalization Service is even worse because they are homegrown.  They wash their hands with blood of thousands of our fellow Americans and claim innocence.  They are the bureaucratic Judas Goats of our new Millennium.

Addendum: DOJgov.net newswire March 18 7:30 - James Zieglar, Commissioner of the Immigration and Naturalization Service admitted that out of 35,000 INS employees, he only has the power to replace six top people. In a live interview on "Fox and Friends," Mr. Zieglar claimed that some two years ago, Congress withdrew authority of top INS management to terminate employees who were not doing their job. The indolent and corrupt bureaucrats of INS remain protected.

December 30, 2001: Transportation Security Administration in Consort with USDOJ INS Sinks anti-Terrorist Attempts at Airline Safety

www.DOJgov.net Guest Editorial: After expectations were raised relative to the takeover of airport security by the federal government, its primary line of defense has been seriously undercut by their decision to retain incompetent and uneducated non-citizen screeners.  Broken in front page headlines today, The New York Times wrote of the public's high expectations that the federal takeover of airport security would lead to a new breed of airport security screener, one who was better educated and more qualified to assume a position of increased responsibility.

Transportation officials stated that they planned to work closely with the USDOJ's Immigration and Naturalization Service to rapidly push these dubiously qualified screeners through for citizenship, in order to comply with recent anti-terrorist legislation.  It should be noted that since 1995, the INS processed Green Card applications in an environment of corruption, indolence and cover-up.  These activities resulted in tens of thousands of criminals and potential terrorists gaining US citizenship.  It brutalized employees attempting to stop this behavior, and pressed the US Attorney's office to silence and intimidate them through threat of arrest and prosecution (see www.justice-denied.net).

Responses ranged from dismay to outrage:  "We're dealing with very sophisticated and trained individuals who are trying to blow up our commercial aircraft," said James E. Hall, recent chairman of the National Transportation Safety Board.  "These screeners are going to be an important line of defense, and it seems to me we should have higher educational standards for them.  If all we're doing is recycling the existing screeners, why have we made this tremendous investment in creating a federal work force? It sends the wrong message." [editor: Federalization of screeners has given these people a 40% increase in salary and a guarantee of job security no matter how they perform]

"What we really need are people who understand how terrorists work, who can spot a false passport, who can ask the right questions of the right people," said Isaac Yeffet, former director of general security for El Al Airlines.  "Every screener is holding on his shoulders a 747 full of passengers.  It is impossible to imagine that they would have dropped out of high school."

Already, elected officials like Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison, Republican of Texas and one of the principal authors of the new security law are joining in lock step to defend this betrayal of trust between the American people and cowardly elected representatives.  They have become the rubber stamp for the uncontrollable bureaucracy that really runs America.  These Congressmen and Senators will undoubtedly use 2002 to conduct more dog and pony shows to "investigate" entities like the USDOJ's Immigration and Naturalization Service.  And undoubtedly, after ignoring testimony by corruption fighting patriots like former USDOJ INS employee Caryl Leventhal (see www.Justice-Denied.net), they will run interference for the INS' "Terrorist Friendly" activities.  Ultimately, they will conclude that corrupt and indolent INS employees would do a better job by being given raises in pay.

Our self serving elected officials know full well that neither they nor the American people are in control of America anymore.  But making noise and writing reports can be used in electioneering promos.  And when the final curtain falls on their their publicity gathering road shows, their legacy will be passing still more legislation to further erode our personal liberty.

October 26, 2001 - Anti-Terror Bill number H.R. 3162 or USA Act Has Potential to Terrorize Us All

www.dojgov.net guest editorial:  In an attempt to cover for US Department of Justice's Immigration and Naturalization Service corruption, inefficiency and "terrorist friendly" activities that led to the terrorist murder of approximately 6,000 Americans, Congress has taken action.  They have decided that the way to protect liberty is to diminish it.

This legislation masked years of writing reports documenting USDOJ INS deficiencies but never following through.  Most everyone in the bureaucratic and political arenas were poised to cover their posteriors for previous inaction.

During the Senate debate Thursday, the lone critic of the bill was Russ Feingold (D-Wisconsin), who introduced a subsequently rejected series of pro-privacy amendments stated:  "We in this body have a duty to analyze, to test, to weigh new laws that the zealous and often sincere advocates of security would suggest to us... This is what I have tried to do with this anti-terrorism bill.  And that is why I will vote against this bill."

Feingold said the USA Act "does not strike the right balance between empowering law enforcement and protecting constitutional freedoms."

Congressman Ron Paul (R-Texas) was even more candid.  In a Fox News Interview, he stated that there were enough laws on the books to protect the American people from terrorism and that the government had essentially dropped the ball.

Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-New York) seemed to speak for the rest of the Senate by saying "the homefront is a war front," arguing that police needed new surveillance powers.  Senator Schumer has been a long time stalking horse for the US Department of Justice and legislating away personal liberty.

Some provisions of this bill are timely and reasonable although questionably needed.  But several are very ominous.  The worst sections of this legislation involve:

Police can sneak into someone's house or office, search the contents, and leave without ever telling the owner. This would be supervised by a court, and the notification of the surreptitious search "may be delayed" indefinitely. (Section 213).  Not only is this a gross invasion of privacy, but it allows for abuse by planting false evidence.  This section will NEVER expire.  Essentially, it trashes the Fourth Amendment of the United States Constitution.

Any U.S. Attorney or state Attorney General can order the installation of the FBI's Carnivore surveillance system.  They can record addresses of Web pages visited and read e-mail correspondents from virtually anyone -- without going to a judge. Previously, there were stiffer legal restrictions on Carnivore and other Internet surveillance techniques. (Section 216).  Nobody in their right mind actually believes that terrorists would openly communicate using easily snatched email.  But this long sought after USDOJ power to infiltrate our lives intimidate free and open communication and eventually censor the internet has received a big boost.  This section has a lifespan "Sunset Provision" of four years although the US Senate wanted it to be permanent.

And so, in the interests of politics and the will to power, the USDOJ becomes the pile driver that pounds a stake into the heart of our beloved Bill of Rights.  They and a feckless Congress, will never admit to previous policies and apathy that led to the slaughter of thousands at World Trade Center America.  Former and current Immigration and Naturalization Service employees like Caryl Leventhal will continue to have their anti-corruption efforts ground into the sludge of the Washington establishment.

September 11, 2001 - Terrorism Comes to America - It's not just Osama Bin Laden.  The US Department of Justice's Immigration and Naturalization Service is Partially to Blame

On this date in history, the worst act of terrorism occurred in the United States.  This editorial will not capitalize on the murder and incineration of thousands of innocent American civilians in The World Trade Center of lower Manhattan.  Suffice to say that the probability of this occurring would have been severely reduced if during Janet Reno's reign as Attorney General, attempts were made to to generate a modicum of effort at legitimate background checks on new immigrants.

During the Clinton years, the INS was transformed into a political instrument of naturalizing as many people as possible who would vote for his administration.  This was particularly but not exclusively true during "Citizenship USA" during the years of 1995-1996.

During this time, a woman named Caryl B. Leventhal began employment at the Immigration and Naturalization Service, 26 Federal Plaza New York City.  She came from the private sector, had been a partner in her own business and had a sharp eye for corrupt activities.

Almost immediately after she began employment, Caryl witnessed an environment conducive to the sale of Green Cards and processing paperwork without proper investigations.  She was even "felt out" by one subsequently arrested employee for complicity in these activities.  For eight months, this brave corruption fighter fought for change.  What she received was brutality to the point of making her permanently disabled and termination.  She was immediately replaced by someone more amenable to the prevailing behavior.

Over these past five years, Caryl Ball Leventhal has been waging a battle for a simple apology.  What she received have been death threats by USDOJ employees and the threat of arrest and prosecution if she didn't censor this website.

Even her own Democrat Senator Charles Chuck Schumer has turned his back on her in an attempt to cover for the Clinton Administration and the Reno USDOJ.  This man's apathy and perfidy is followed by Democrat Congressman Major Owens.  In spite of pleas from other Congressmen, Congressman Owens refused to follow up on this matter.  And all indications are that Caryl's Democrat Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton has followed Suit.

Well now, the fruits of implacable bureaucracy and feckless politicians have born fruit.  It is the fruit of death.  But no amount of feigning sad looks on photo ops can erase the blood on the hands of these government agents.  They are just as guilty as those directly involved.

Addendum: September 12, 2001... ONE DAY after terrorists destroyed the World Trade Center and murdered between 5,000-10,000 innocent Americans, the US Department of Justice's Immigration and Naturalization Service sends Caryl's husband a letter.  With self-righteous and obtuse arrogance, they again refuse to address her five year battle for vindication in attempts to stop INS's "terrorism friendly" corruption and inefficiency.  CLICK FOR BREAKING EVENTS

August 2001 - Members of the Federal Bureaucracy Perform a Disappearing Act.  Congressman Gary Condit.  The Wall of Silence

Congressman Gary Condit's callous indifference to the disappearance and possible murder of US Department of Justice Intern Chandra Levy is not "Just about Sex."  The fact that people in power within the federal government use children of the American people as sex toys is a loathsome tradition.  It is not untypical of the way Medieval nobles had the right to have their way with any subject they wished.  That so many Americans seem to accept the growing power of their self-appointed nobility with such passivity may be unnerving to constitutional scholars, but this is for a future editorial.

The truly disturbing aspect of this incident is that so many federal bureaucrats view American citizens as serfs to be exploited, ignored and intimidated.  While so many Americans remain preoccupied with their 401K plans and Mutual Funds, access to a government that can make people dissolve into physical obscurity may be the touchstone demise of individual liberty.

The Washington DC police department is paid for by Congress.  Their primary job is to protect their financial benefactors.  Congressmen consumed with partisan issues, fear of blackmail from the federal bureaucracy and covering for their own social pathology will only come forth in the face of absolute political necessity.

Let's not forget that the only reason why the disappearance of Chandra Levy has become "newsworthy," is because her parents are wealthy enough to secure high powered legal help who know how to manipulate the press.  People like Caryl Leventhal, a corruption fighting former employee of the US Department of Justice Immigration and Naturalization Service can be brutalized, discarded and threatened with death or imprisonment with impunity, within a wall of federal silence.

A well oiled and low key federal tyranny over the American people is held up to the light only in the presence of those with financial privilege. And like a flare in the night, the glow subsides amidst the power of growing tyranny.

July 2001 - US Department of Justice Rewards Spy for Loyalty to the Agency Bureaucrats

US Department of Justice FBI agent Robert Hanssen was one of the most damaging spies in U.S. history.  His arrest took place on February 18, 2001, just after dropping off a bundle of classified material to be picked up by his Russian handlers.

In the Alexandria Virginia Courthouse, Agent Hanssen pled guilty to 13 counts of ''substantive acts of espionage'', one count of attempted espionage and another of conspiracy to commit espionage.

The deal with the government was complete:  Robert Hanssen would plead guilty in return for spending the rest of his life in Allenwood Penitentiary ... called "The Country Club" for the lavish taxpayer funded lifestyle of the affluent white collar criminals who are sent there.  And oh yes ... Mr. Hanssen gets to keep his US Department of Justice $40,000+ annual pension, his spy-money funded home in Virginia and his three automobiles.  He will also be allowed to keep an undisclosed sum of funds gained from the betrayal of American security and liberty

Things never seem to change among the tenured bureaucrats that run the US Department of Justice.  I suppose that even though Mr. Hanssen betrayed the United States and the American people, he is considered a wayward but fundamentally loyal employee by these purveyors of oligarchic debauchery.  After all, he never attempted to battle internal corruption or in any way upset their cart of rotten apples.

Now, let's compare the compassion shown Hanssen with almost six years of USDOJ brutality leveled against another employee.  Caryl Leventhal attempted to stop subsequently documented internal corruption and indolence, when the bureaucracy turned a blind eye to enabling a looming terrorist friendly menace.  She was met with termination and threat of death.  She was later met with threat of imprisonment, if her website www.justice-denied.net was not made more amicable to USDOJ dogma.

For some six years, Caryl Ball Leventhal - a former USDOJ employee and woman dis
